The Amazon Tree Boa, scientific name Corallus hortulanus, is a non-venomous snake species found in the Amazon rainforest of South America.

They are a medium-sized snake, with adults ranging from 4-6 feet (122-183 cm) in length. They have a thick body and a relatively short tail compared to their body length. Their coloration varies depending on their location and can range from shades of brown, green, yellow, or red. They have a pattern of irregular-shaped markings down their body, which helps them to camouflage in their environment.

Amazon Tree Boas are arboreal and spend most of their time in trees, where they hunt for prey, which can include birds, small mammals, and reptiles. They are nocturnal and will often wait for prey to come to them before striking.

In the wild, Amazon Tree Boas play an important role in the ecosystem by helping to control populations of rodents and other small animals. However, they are sometimes kept as pets due to their striking appearance and relatively docile nature.

As pets, Amazon Tree Boas require a specialized setup with plenty of climbing branches, a warm basking spot, and access to clean water. They are typically fed a diet of frozen-thawed rodents, which can be purchased from Chief Reptile.
